It may not have been pretty or icom radio busiiness conventional but Ricky Stenhouse Jr claimed victory in the U.S. Cellular 250 NASCAR Nationwide Series race on Saturday at Iowa Speedway after his engine expired and he then sustained heavy contact from Carl Edwards a few feet from the checkered flag.
If it is an radioe arpiece from icom, remember your camera. It is far easier to have a photographic reminder of the people you meet, sit with at dinner, attend excursions with, etc., than committing everything to memory. N.B. When you do develop the photos, have two for one prints made and send a copy of the photo to the other delegates you have met. Always include your name and contact details(preferably on a sticker) on the back of the photos and date of the event. It is surprising how often these photographs can help to cement an international relationship. Be seen, get known, circulate proactively!
I'm a liar! You see anyone radio earpiece that tells a lie AND anyone that repeats that lie even if he does not know at the time that it is a lie is a Liar! I'm a liar. You are a liar! Hows that on them post toasties this morning? I ain't kidding you here! I was some mad! I was looking up to liars all my young years, joined the United States Navy when I sat in school watching a "black and white" television to view President Kennedy be murdered, almost in front of my eyes! Think that is upsetting? That would upset your day, let me tell you!
The caution was set off by Michael Waltrip Racing driver Clint Bowyer who spun along the frontstretch while Newman was leading. A replay from Bowyer's in-car camera that included the radio communication from his team of the final laps however showed what can only be termed as suspicious.
Gunfire was exchanged for some time, and all he could do was wait until it was over and pray. Payton came to him once the fire had stopped, appearing relatively unscathed. He informed Davis that a Medivac had been called, but Davis didn't want it. He was bleeding a good deal from the head, but he was all right. He wanted to know about Jefferson. Payton said nothing, though.
Summary For portable (walkie-talkie) use, it's hard to beat a full power GMRS handie-talkie for price and convenience. For example, a pair of Uniden 5-watt handies complete with charger will set you back under a C-note and provide about the same range as a pair of CB handie-talkies, which in most cases, will cost more. For mobile use, it's personal preference; both GMRS and CB mobiles will give fairly comparable range. For base use, IMHO the CB can't be beat for best "bang for the buck". GMRS can beat CB range with a repeater and/or highly directional antennas, but again, this is getting into "hobbyist" areas. As with so many things in life, it all depends how much you want to spend!
